T4 Reed Cage

The Stock Tecate Reed Cage is Very Good - It's used on KX250s & KX500s.  There are other areas to spend your cash!

The Pic on the right is a stock cage with minor porting -

 

Reed Spacers move the cage out 10mm (average) providing extra crankcase volume and moving the reeds back from the piston area to reduce the turbulance of the piston and i'ts effect on the intake pulse (especialy good for big bores as the piston is closer to the reeds) 

• will lower primary compression ratio (crank case) 
• will generaly increase torque/ power lower in the RPM range. 
• Results will vary, test with your specific setup or consult your builder
